5 injured as train rams ambulance trapped on Manila railroad crossing

 

 

 

 

An ambulance carrying a pregnant woman and four other peoplewas hit by a train in Manilaon Fridayafternoon, injuring all theoccupants of the emergency vehicle.

 

 

 

The injured were rushed to Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center (JRMMC) for treatment, said Conrado Mendoza, a fire volunteer from Blue Eagle rescue group and one of the first responders on the scene.

 

The ambulance driver was identified as 41-year-old Jaime Pagas, who had a punctured lung. Other victims were Perla Vizcaya, Sally Marcelo and Eduardo Marcelo.
